The collision of India-Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 has received countless calls for a boycott for the competition in Dubai. The debate was fed by the terror attack of April 22 in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were brutally killed on the basis of their religious orientation.
The wife of one of the victims who lost his life in the attack is urging people to boycott the match, and says that looking at India Pakistan is an insult to the memory of the victims. In Maharashtra there has been a political party to fight the issue, with the argument that the Indian government refuses to play against Pakistan is a chance to send a global message against terrorism.
In the meantime, the BCCI has defended its decision. Secretary Devajit Saikia explained that, unlike bilateral cricket, where India has broken all ties with Pakistan, multilateral tournaments do not leave any room for one -sided boycots without risking the career of players and the sporting reputation of India. Former sports sports and ex-BCCI president Anurag Thakur emphasized that bilateral cricket is forbidden, but multilateral events require participation.
5. Yograj Singh:
The former India cricket player and the father of Yuvraj Singh, Yograj Singh, stated that Pakistan could not compete with India and has credited the IPL for raising the Indian cricket, both financially and professional. Yograj continued on Pakistan to rebuild his cricket system with a vision similar to that of Imran Khan, who struggled players during the 1992 World Cup profit.
“As for Pakistan, what will it do? It can’t compete with India. Because the IPL has come to India, Indian players have become very large. Why? To get money. There is money here. It is a good thing. And the land has never met. It is not possible.
