The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that the match referee cannot remove Andy Pycroftt From the Panel of Match referees for the current Asia Cup, because the investigation found no mistake on its part.
This entire event was rooted from the moment that the PCB submitted an official complaint to the ICC to punish and remove Pycroft from the panel of Match referees after members of the Indian team refused to carry out hand pressures at the toss and after the recent game on Sunday 14 September.
However, ICC has communicated with the PCB that there has been no misconduct on a part of the match referee, according to Cricbuzz. The ICC Communique acknowledged that the global administrative body conducted its own research and gave an opinion that Pycroft actually helped in preventing a shame for Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha by informing them to avoid hands after the Worp.
In contrast to several reports, the ICC emphasized that Pycroft had not violated any form of match protocol by its decision. The body also admitted that the PCB was well on its right to complaints. However, they discovered that Pycroft should not be blamed. It also clarified that the appointment of competition officials is a decision that is centralized by the ICC and cannot be determined or influenced by the member boards.
The ICC made it clear that bending the rules could have put a wrong precedent under pressure. The chairman of the PCB Mohsin Naqvi announced on social media that the board has instructed the team to go to the location after previous reports that the team will not participate in the collision against hosts United Arab Emiraten on Thursday 17 September.
