The Legacy Fighting Alliance crowned a new Heavyweight Champion in the LFA 224 main event.Fighting for the vacant title was Matthew Adams and Arslan Bilalov, who had an unblemished professional record of 5-0 coming in. Adams (5-2) gave up a takedown early, allowing Bilalov to unload with punches. The Russian kept control by getting into the mount position and bleeding “Bad” with elbows. Bilalov pivoted to a back-naked choke to win the title and move to 6-0 as a pro. The tap came at 4:47 of the first round.

The co-main event saw welterweights Josiah Harrell and Bekmyrza Dosmatov battle it out for a likely title shot. In a wild battle full of scrambling and hard punches, the grueling pace of the undefeated Harrell (11-0) proved too much. An exhausted Dosmatov (13-3) gave up Mount in the final round, finally succumbing to punches from “Muscle Hamster” at 3:28 after his corner ended the fight.

The only women’s mixed martial arts bout on the main card saw Giovanna Canuto face fellow strawweight Janaina Silva. Canuto (7-1), a heavy betting favorite, had to work for her victory over Silva (5-3), who was the busier fighter on her feet. However, in the third round, Canuto managed to lock in a face crank for the tap at 2:38.

In featherweight action, Shaheen Santana took on undefeated Taner Trembley. Surprisingly, it was the wrestling of Trembley (6-0) that impressed as he locked Santana (9-4) in a tight guillotine choke. While “Shazam” made a valiant effort, he finally tapped out at the 3:32 mark of Round 1.

Lightweight prospect Canon Swanson needed less than a round to put Jimmy Washington to sleep. After securing a takedown, Swanson (5-1-1) delivered a tight arm-triangle choke. Washington (2-1) was too tough to tap out, but at 2:59 a technical submission was called after he was knocked unconscious.

The opening fight on the main card pitted Abbas Abasov against Andy Waters in a battle of young featherweights. The hitter of Avasov (5-1) ultimately made the difference, as he managed to eliminate Waters (4-3) with a nasty head kick and follow-up punches. The stoppage came at 3:39 of the second round.
