Arsenal injury latest to Rice, Saliba, Calafiori, Martinelli

Arsenal were left with four injury concerns after their win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, as Mikel Arteta had the latest information at hand.

The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points with a 1-0 win after Eberechi Eze scored against his former side.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City lost this weekend, leaving Bournemouth as their closest challengers, four points behind.

The victory may have come at a cost. William Saliba was subbed off at half-time, while Declan Rice looked as if he had suffered a blow as he left the field late on. Riccardo Calafiori was fired at the same time.

After the match, Arteta said: “Well, the first one was Willy who obviously had to come off after the first half. Also Declan suffered from a blow he took from the first half, and who was the other one? Ricky. Also. So yeah, let’s see how that will go.”

He added: “With Willy there are two things related to his substitution and with Declan I don’t really know because it was a blow. But I don’t know if it was the calf or the Achilles tendon or what exactly it was.”

Gabriel Martinelli was seen limping through the tunnel after the whistle, raising concerns that he too may have injured himself.

“Yes, I think so,” said Arteta. “We have to check that out. He felt a bit uncomfortable. He said he felt something. We don’t know if it’s a muscle problem or not. We’ll have more news tomorrow.”
