Arman Tsarukyan may not have had a shot at the UFC lightweight title, but that hasn’t stopped him from racking up wins and causing chaos outside the Octagon.
Tsarukyan returned to the mat on Saturday Real American Freestyle 6 for a match with Georgio Poullas in the evening’s co-main event. Things started off awkward right away, as Poullos and Tsarukyan were more interested in beating the hell out of each other than actually wrestling.
And that was just the calm before the storm.
After two rounds, Tsarukyan led 4-1, but things went completely off the rails in the third round as Poullos came out at a fast and furious pace in an attempt to close the gap.
With Tsarukyan leading 5-3 as time ticked down, Poullos attempted a takedown at the last second. Tsarukyan stuffed him, but then delivered a punch while on top of his opponent. That resulted in both teams storming the mat for an all-out brawl.
After a few minutes, the chaos subsides, with Tsarukyan disappearing and Poullos being escorted backstage by none other than former UFC interim titleholder Colby Covington.
Official result: Arman Tsarukyan defeated. Georgio Poullos (5-3).
