UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan found himself at the center of another controversy during Real American Freestyle 6 this past weekend.
Tsarukyan, who has not fought since presenting Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last year, took on talented wrestler Georgio Poullas at RAF 6. It was Tsarukyan’s second appearance in the RAF after defeating Lance Palmer at RAF 5 in January.
In between fight camps, Tsarukyan has worked extensively with UFC Middleweight Champion Khamzat Chimaev in California. The two UFC stars are never afraid of a fight in or out of the cage, as Chimaev has shown throughout his career.
Tsarukyan started with Poullas after their match at RAF 6, throwing several punches at his opponent and causing a brawl between the two teams. This incident occurred after Poullas committed numerous fouls during the match, including punching Tsarukyan in the face.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani ShowTsarukyan revealed a phone call he received from Chimaev immediately after his brawl at RAF 6.
“Khamzat immediately called me and said, ‘Bro, do I have to fly away? Why didn’t you invite me? If there’s a fight, you never invite me! I have to be there!’.
“We shouldn’t be together for fights. He’s definitely crazier. Everyone’s afraid of him. He’s strong, he knows he has a big name, and he doesn’t denigrate anyone. But if anyone says anything about him or his family, I don’t know.”
Chimaev won the UFC middleweight title last year by defeating Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319. He is expected to return later this year, likely against top contender Nassourdine Imavov.
What’s next for Tsarukyan: He could potentially make it back with Poullas in the RAF before opting out of his next UFC fight. In both cases, expect fireworks from the rising lightweight candidate.
