The first inning did not immediately go wrong for Andrew Abbott. He received fly outs from the first two batters with whom he was confronted. But then he gave four straight 100+ MPH balls in a row – all the hits, and three of them were double – while Arizona collected three points to take the lead.

Cincinnati would get two runners in the 2nd inning, but was unable to cash in on that opportunity. The same would also happen in the next inning. Arizona added to their lead in the second half of the inning on a 2-run home run by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. who made the score on 5-0. It became 7-0 in the 4th when Geraldo Pendomo added his own home run.

The 4th inning would be the last for Andrew Abbott while compiling his worst start of the season. In the 5th inning, the Reds Zach Maxwell sent to the hill for his debut in the big league. His first throw was a slider for a strike. His next throw was a 101.5 mph Fastball when he showed off with his arm power. Maxwell would be a fly from Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Get to start the collection and then hit Gabriel Moreno for the second zero. But the Strikeout streak ended there when Blaze Alexander brought the score to 8-0 on a solo-home run. Maxwell would return with a strikeout on a 101.6 MPH Fastball for Tyler Locklear while completing his first inning of the big league. Maxwell would return for the 6th and worked around a 1-out three-fervous by hitting the next two batters.

In the 8th inning, the Reds would finally be on the board. Elly de la Cruz took a 1-out double. Matt McLain came from the bank to run for him. Austin Hays came through with a 2-out single to score McLain and make it 8-1. Arizona got that run back in the second half of the inning and then took another in the second half of the inning to take a 10-1 lead and that is where the score was for the remaining eight minutes of the game, because Cincinnati could not get anything done in the 9th because they lost their third game in a row.

Important moment of the game

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s 2-run Thuis Run in the 3rd inning that made the score on 5-0.
