The Arizona Fall League ended this week. The White Sox had nine candidates for the promotion, including headliners VAN Braden Montgomery (White Sox No. 1/MLB No. 35) and LHP Hagen Smith (No. 5/No. 88). The crew was completed by: IF Sam Antonacci (No. 11), RHP Tyler Davis, IF Ryan Galanie, RHP Carson Jacobs, OF Caden Connor, RHP Connor McCullough and RHP Jarold Rosado.
The White Sox hopefuls played for the Glendale Desert Dogs and shared the dugout with players from the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays.
Due to the threat of bad weather on the way to the Grand Canyon State, the weekly program was slightly adjusted. The final games on Wednesday were canceled and the play-off games were suspended for a day.
Monday, November 10, 2025: Mesa Solar Sox 2, Glendale Desert Dogs 1 (7 innings)
Connor and Galanie were ice cold, going 0-for-6 together. Montgomery and Antonacci were able to relax with the day off after their Fall Stars cameo.
Rosado had a rough outing, securing just one out and giving up a run on three straight walks to start the inning. After packing the bags, he handed out a count after a force out that allowed the first run of the game to be scored, and was promptly given the hook.
Tuesday, November 11, 2025: Glendale Desert Dogs 11, Scottsdale Scorpions 6 (7 innings)
Montgomery (2-for-4, 2 2B, RBI) was back to top prospect action, hitting a 179.8 mph double off Antonacci (0-for-3, BB), who reached on a walk. The duo made quite a tag team, hitting back-to-back in the sequence, with Antonacci getting on base and Montgomery finding ways to bring him home. Rinse, repeat.
Jacobs tiptoed through the sixth for a hold, but not before yielding two runs in the sixth. He allowed a single and three walks before being replaced by Randel Clemente, who limited the damage and closed the match.
Wednesday 12 November 2025: AFL Quarter-finals — Peoria Javelinas 8, Glendale Desert Dogs 7
This one was a heartbreaker for the Dogs. They led most of the way, but lost undeservedly in the eighth. However, the Sox kids did their part in pushing Glendale to the semifinals. Antonacci (1-for-5), Connor (1-for-4, HR, RBI) and Montgomery (3-for-5, 2 2B, RBI) played the entire game and combined to score four of the seven DD runs.
Montgomery wasted no time in doubling Antonacci (thanks to an error) in the first inning. He added a blind single that sneaked past the shortstop, then belted out another double in the seventh. If Braden brings this kind of energy to spring training, the Sox will have no choice but to put him in right field for 2026. He finished the AFL with a slash of .366/.527/.634, good for an OPS of 1.161, with six doubles and a lone dinger. Not a ton of home runs, but that .634 slugging? Sixth best in the league.
Connor got on the board with a solo shot in the sixth, his first of the fall. With a .359/.494/.391 line and an .885 OPS, the 24-year-old makes a case for climbing the South Side prospect ladder.
That’s a wrap for the AFL. Now the long, cold wait for spring. In the meantime, stay up to date with the latest Hot Stove news and our annual Top 100 Prospects.
