The latest AP Top 25 poll released Monday showed significant movement in the rankings after a wild week of college basketball. Four teams in the top 10 of last week’s poll suffered at least one loss, including UConn and Duke. That opened the door for Houston to jump to No. 3 in the poll.

Few rivalries in sports can match the drama and intensity of the battle between Duke and North Carolina, and last weekend was no different. After North Carolina trailed for 39 minutes, 59.6 seconds, star guard Seth Trimble knocked down a 3-pointer to give his team a dramatic 71-68 victory. The Tar Heels moved up three spots to No. 11 with the win.

Duke entered on a 10-game win streak and had not lost to ACC competition. The Blue Devils remained at No. 4 in the poll despite the loss.

The other team that was in the top five last week and suffered a loss was UConn. The Huskies fell three spots to No. 6 after an 81-72 loss to St. John’s. The Huskies were on an 18-game winning streak, with their last loss coming in mid-November against No. 1 Arizona.
