Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Saturday urged doctors, especially experts in various forms of medicine, to visit tribal villages every month.

Addressing the gathering of doctors and students of Rangaraya Medical College on Saturday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “There is a greater need for the presence and attention of expert doctors in tribal areas where the people are struggling for medical care. Every doctor should go to a tribal village for a day every month as a sign of social responsibility.”

Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that the government is spending a lot of resources to provide medical education in the government schools.

Referring to his recent visit to Araku Valley where he noticed widespread cases of sickle cell anemia, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “The indigenous people should be consulted regularly by expert doctors for better medical care in their villages”.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan announced that he had initiated the construction of a blood bank in Araku Valley to help patients suffering from sickle cell anemia.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan lauded the alumni of Rangaraya Medical College for raising ₹11.10 crore for infrastructure facilities including administrative buildings and laboratories of the college on the college campus. He performed the bhumi puja for the construction of the infrastructure facilities.
