Anthony Scotford is going to meet one of his heroes – and then hit him in the face.
The 26 -year -old from Worcester is thrown in in the deep end when he will continue his Barnuckle boxing career in the Trigon in Bristol on Saturday 6 September.
Scotford has his second fight against former World Cruiserweight champion Carl Hobley.
Hobley is on the Comeback Pad and Scotford allowed for BKB 45: “I am a fan of the guy.
“I’ve kept an eye on him for years and he has always been good to look at.
“He always comes for a fight and has defeated a number of big names in his career.
“It would be stupid to pop with him if I have skills. I know he comes down with his head and throw large shots and I have to outboxing.”
Scotford proved that he could be in Cardiff in April in April in April and bumped into an exciting BKB debut in Cardiff, when he hardly chattered Aaron Ashton in a battle of the year.
There were four knockdowns in a wild opening round – where Ashton hit the canvas three times.
Scotford then produced a one-punch Ko in the second and it insists that he is more than a rock-hunting Slugger with a huge fighting heart.
“It was absolutely entertaining,” laughed Scotford, who had a handful of white-cording battles before he joined the largest stable of Barnuckle Boksers in the world.
“I looked back and thought:” Good fight. ‘
“The moment you just continue. I love fighting and I wanted to win.
“You become a different person when you enter there and when you have lifted your hand afterwards, this is the most rewarding feeling.
“But it was crazy. I can box better than I showed. I have proven that I can delete and now I want to prove that I can box.”
