Dallas Mavericks-star-forward Anthony Davis returned to the practice floor for 5-on-5 game at the end of last week, reported NBA insider Marc Stein van de Stein Line Saturday.
“It is believed that it is Davis’s first action, because it appeared in July that he needed eye surgery to restore a detached retina,” Stein Posted on X.

The last update is encouraging for Mavericks fan, because Stein previously reported that the former number 1 of the number 1 on 11 September was not completely back on the field.
Davis, 32, sustained the eye injury during the 2024-25 season, and he underwent an operation to his eye in July, according to ESPNs Shams Charania.
The 10-time All-Star is expected to be ready for training camp on time, his first with the MAVs since he was treated at Dallas in the Blockbuster trade who sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Davis sustained his right eye injury in the 120-118 victory of Dallas over the Atlanta Hawks on 2 April. His teammate, Daniel Gafford, unintentionally brought him to his eye.
The former NBA champion left the game bleeding and returned with a bandage above his right eye. A cut above his eye required four stitches. He ended with 34 points against Atlanta.

Per Basketball referenceDavis played last season in just 11 games for Dallas and had two play-in matches in which he had an average of 33.5 points and nine rebounds.
In his mavs debut on 8 February against the Houston Rockets, Davis also suffered a left adductor tribe that sidelined him for about six weeks. He registered 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks before he went.
Davis could possibly take on an even greater role next season with Kyrie Irving, which is expected to be set aside until at least January while recovering from a torn ACL.

The Mavericks opens the training camp on Monday 29 September.
