Angels -outfielder Jo Adell shot the field conditions in Daikin Park – home to the Astros – after one of his teammates was wounded to make a play in the field.
Taylor Ward played the left field for the Angels on Sunday when he tried a catch on a ball in the eighth inning by Astros-Infielder Ramón Urías, which led to Ward crashing into a scorboard with metal outside the city that lies in the left field.
The sound of Ward that connected to the scoreboard was audible on the broadcast and Ward immediately waved to a trainer to come out and check it.
Relievers Andrew Chafin and Kenley Jansen came from the Angels Bullpen with towels to set up Ward’s head and again signed for a trainer.
After the match and 3-0 win for Los Angeles-teared Adell in the design of the stadium.
“He does what he should do. He is aggressive during a play,” said Adell, According to the Orange County Register. “The Bottom Line, and I spoke about this before, but there should be no metal scoreboard anywhere on the baseball court.
Interim manager Ray Montgomery said after the game that Ward “maybe went to the hospital to get some stitches” and that he had suffered a cut above his eye.
Montgomery was not sure if Ward had been viewed for a concussion and said that “the only saving grace” had been that he did not delete himself for the collision.
“It seemed that something on the wall may have dressed his eye or cut his eye. I hope he is doing well,” he said.
