Angel Reese apologized with her Chicago Sky teammates for critical comments she made during An interview with the Chicago Tribune On Wednesday.
“I am not satisfied with the same S — We have done this year,” Reese originally told the outlet. “We need good players. We need to get great players. That is a non-conservable for me. I am prepared and want to play with the best. And how I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do out of season this season.
“So this season it will be very, very important to ensure that we put on the best of the best, because we cannot settle for what we have this year.”
The air is currently 10-30 in the season and have the second worst record in the WNBA.
Reese offered the apology after the 88-64 victory of the Sky on the Connecticut Sun.
“I am probably frustrated [with] Myself now, “Reese said after the victory.” I think the language is removed from the context. I was really not intentionally meant to put my teammates, because they have experienced this with me all year round. They have taken their ass, just as I took my ass. They showed up by thick and thin, and in the dressing room when nobody could see anything.
“So I want to apologize to my teammates, whom I already talk about the article and how it was wrongly structured about what was said. And I just have to be better with my language. Because I know it is not the message, it is the messenger. And understanding what I say can be taken any form of a way. So, I just have to be better and grow from this.”
Sky coach Tyler Marsh, who was also critical, said that the problem was treated in the dressing room between the players before the game.
“That will remain between me and angel,” said Marsh. “But I think everyone has had their opportunities to speak. And we will leave it at that.”
Reese is on average 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds of the season.
The air is 3-15 since the All-Star Break.
