UFC Vederweight Andre Fili appears locked and loaded for his fight with Christian Rodriguez on UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday evening.
If you mean a diaper bag, baby toys and his sucking son with ‘locked and loaded’.
“I moved to Vegas about a year and a half ago, so I will be a father during the Vechtweek. It’s good for the soul,” Fili said reporters on Wednesday.
“I wake up in my own bed, make breakfast with my wife and son, and yes, it was great.”
Fili (24-12) sees paternity as a super power. Having a family to take care of and a son to raise, has put his fighting career in perspective. Life is no longer about fighting, if there is something, life is about the balance of balance between hunter and father.
“It’s like a super power man, you know? I feel that I wish I did this 10 years ago, it’s crazy. The ride, the motivation and only the gratitude of these small moments. One day we can look back on this photo. There are just many cool moments this week,” he said.
“Huge motivating factor for me. It is the first time in my life that is a little cooler than fighting. My whole life since I was 14, that’s 20 years, because I saw the UFC for the first time. Fighting is the coolest in the world for me, and now it’s on a finest thing and he’s the first.”
