Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes suffered a rare injury during our 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa yesterday. With the score still on the pitch, he made way for Lisandro Martinez at half-time, before United fell behind.

Fernandes was seen walking to the stands after half-time, but reports have since suggested we will be without our captain for at least a month.

Speaking to the press after the match, Ruben Amorim declined to give a timeline on his return, but confirmed he would be out for a while.

I think it’s soft tissue. So it will take some time. We’ll see. It’s really strange. This year, especially at this time, we have so many problems, but we have to deal with them.

I think he’s going to lose some games, but I’m not sure. I don’t want to talk about it, he is a man who is always fit and has shown that he can always recover.

Over the next month, Fernandes will miss our games against Newcastle, Wolves, Leeds, Burnley, Brighton and City. We can be hopeful that he will return for Arsenal in time for the end of January.
