American pacer Jasdeep Singh reveals the IPL team he wants to play for [Exclusive]

Jasdeep Singh has steadily established himself as one of the most reliable pace options for US cricket in recent years. The fast bowler is known for his discipline, control and ability to perform in pressure situations and is part of a growing wave of players from Associated Nations looking for consistent exposure to top-level opposition. As American cricket continues to gain momentum, Jasdeep’s performances have made him one of the names to watch.

Jasdeep featured in 31 T20Is and claimed 32 wickets at an economy rate of 8.64. In the previous T20 World Cup, co-hosted by USA and West Indies, the pacer played in four matches and claimed the prized wicket of Babar Azam in the memorable clash between USA and Pakistan.

The US has been placed in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, the Netherlands and Namibia. They will start their World Cup campaign against India on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.

If you get the chance to play in the IPL, which team do you think will best suit your style and why?

I would be grateful for an opportunity with any IPL team because the league itself is at a different level. Having said that, my roots are strongly linked to Punjab. My parents are from there, and even though I was born in the United States, that cultural connection has always stayed with me. Because of that connection, I think Punjab Kings would be a good fit for me.
