The American Express 2026 is ready for a final round of storylines.
Si Woo Kim, who turned down an offseason offer to join LIV Golf, heads into the final round at PGA West with a one-stroke lead. But world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and 18-year-old phenom Blades Brown are one shot back.
Brown, who started the week playing the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour, has a chance to become the youngest PGA Tour winner in history if he can beat Kim and Scheffler on Sunday.
“I’m enjoying it there,” Brown said after his round on Saturday. “I’m 18 years old and playing on the PGA TOUR. How great is that? I graduated high school about two weeks ago, so it’s nice to have that problem off my back, but I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.”
As for Scheffler, the world No. 1 will arrive Sunday as betting favorite and within 18 holes of joining Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win four majors and 20 PGA Tour events before turning 30.
All three will compete for the title $1.656 million winner’s check, but they will also have to deal with a number of others, including 2023 US Open champion Wyndham Clark. Clark sits just two shots behind Kim, next to Eric Cole. Patrick Cantlay is five shots back at 17 under, while Rickie Fowler’s slow Saturday saw him tied for 20th, seven shots behind Kim.
