Amazon Prime to stream for four hours of masters

Amazon has joined CBS and ESPN to broadcast four extra hours of coverage Prime video.

The extra hours will cover Thursday and Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. for the ESPN broadcast.

In recent years, Amazon has put its way into sports content. They have the NFLs on Thursday evening football, NBA and WNBA matches and national broadcasts for women’s football competitions. At a certain moment in the past year, Amazon was in conversation to acquire Major League Baseball broadcasts.

This way I wonder if Amazon will continue with other golf content. Extensive coverage of one of the other Majors? Given their WNBA and NWSL content, can they also pick up some LPGA hours? The LPGA could probably use a cash infusion and – given their weak TV – presence – would probably welcome more streaming.

I actually watch quite a few Amazon Prime video offers. They have many of the older “B” films that are a guilty pleasure for me – especially Schlocky Horror and Science Fiction from the sixties and seventies.

As far as I’m concerned, at least more masters coverage is better. I am old enough to remember when the masters were only during the weekend, and only the rear nine was shown.
