Manchester United’s Amad and Bryan Mbeumo were both involved in the Africa Cup of Nations on New Year’s Eve.

Amad

The United winger has been crucial for his country in this tournament, scoring two goals in the opening two group games.

Amad was rested for Ivory Coast’s match against Gabon, but came off the bench for the last fourteen minutes.

The Ivorian played a key role in helping his side overturn a 2-1 deficit, winning the match 3-2 and securing top spot in their group above Mbeumo’s Cameroon.

That was the case in his fourteen minutes from the bench two shots on targetwith one attempt blocked.

He completed 100% of his dribbling attempts in the match and won 100% of his tackles.

Amad was also incredibly accurate in his duels, winning all four of his attempts to help his side take control of the game.

Ivory Coast and Amad will now face Burkina Faso in the round of 16 on Tuesday, January 6.

Bryan Mbeumo

Unlike his clubmate, Mbeumo was given the task of starting but was substituted at half-time in Cameroon’s 2–1 win over Mozambique.

He had one important pass in the half and was responsible for creating one big chance in the match.

The 26-year-old had that too one shot that was blocked by the opposition and could not attempt a single dribble.

He also had little defensive work and failed to participate in duels or win tackles during his 45 minutes of action.

Cameroon and Mbeumo will now face South Africa in the round of 16 on Sunday, January 4.
