The sense of luxury and lifestyle of this striking four-bedroom waterfront home matches its location on Altona’s Esplanade.
The seller says the location appealed to him first.
“A view of the beach in the bustling little suburb of Altona was a major draw,” he says.
“I believe Altona is an unspoiled gem; it’s one of the last suburbs with beach frontage and so much potential.”
When the property was purchased, the appearance was very different from the unforgettable first impression that the natural quartz stone facade now provides. But the seller says there were good bones.
“The original house was built in the 1960s and had a large footprint to work with and a lot of potential,” he explains.
“At the inspection we recognized the value and structural integrity of the existing ‘bones’ of the house and turned it into a project that could be brought back to life.”

The four-bedroom house at 267 Esplanade, Altona, is for sale.
The striking house on the water matches its location on Altona’s Esplanade.
The house has been completely transformed, some original elements have been preserved.
Although the house has been completely transformed, some original elements have still been preserved.
“The primary external shell of the house was retained,” the seller explains.
“These days the trend favors demolition, but there is something to be said about peeling back the layers and breathing new life into an old house.”
By working with a number of local craftsmen and construction professionals, a new life was exactly what we achieved.
“We worked with Daniel, a second-generation carpenter from Compliant Carpentry Victoria/Compliant Cladding Victoria, and Meta – Morph(osis) Architects were also engaged to bring my vision to life,” he says.
The vision is inspired by the Mediterranean style and what the seller describes as “a holiday home”.
“I imagined flowing linens, curves, soft woods and statement marble in neutral tones,” he explains.
“Brushed copper fittings and fixtures throughout, giving a high quality finish with rustic charm.
“Commercial glazing was chosen to allow the internal and external features to blend seamlessly, regardless of the season outside.”
The vision is inspired by the Mediterranean style.
The home has a price guide of $3.15 million – $3.45 million.
While high-end fixtures, appliances, amenities and the beach views and natural light that fills the home through skylights and windows are spectacular, the seller says the home’s exterior features also stand out.
“I wanted the inside to flow into the entertainment area with stacking doors leading to the pool, a BBQ kitchen surrounded by rainforest-inspired landscaping to continue the holiday home vibe,” he says.
“The beach facade is bordered by birds of paradise, clean concrete and a natural stone facade that fits in with the Mediterranean vision.”
267 Esplanade, Altona, is listed by Anthony Christakakis of Jellis Craig Williamstown, with a price guide of $3.15 million – $3.45 million. Submission of expressions of interest closes on February 24 at 5:00 PM.
