The Americans responded two minutes later when Harrison Blaisdell put a backhander past Wichita Matt Davis for his 14e of the season to make the score 1-1.
Only one goal in the second period and that came late when Peter Bates scored at 15:03 on the power play. Are 15e goal of the year from Noah Beck and Michal Stinil to give the Thunder a 2-1 lead. Wichita held a two-shot lead at 18-16 after the middle frame.
Neither team scored in the third period, although the Americans had some big chances along the way. The Americans brought Jackson Parsons back late, but we could not tie the game. The loss leaves the Americans tied with Tahoe in the standings. Each team with 52 points.
