In a highly formulated order, Allahabad High Court, earlier this week, ordered the Government of Uttar Pradesh to regulate the caste glorification and to ban the cupboards in FIRs, public registers, signs in cities and villages, etc..
The Bank of Justice Vinod Diwaker also asked the government in its order of 16 September to curb caste emblems and slogans in public, as well as private vehicles and the content of caste glorification on social media.
The court in which it is stated that the law makers must ensure that they work on promoting institutions and community centers instead of exclusive caste-based institutions, the court pointed out that to minimize caste discrimination, the government must have next to laws. It suggested that school curriculum modules should teach children about equality, dignity and the dangers of caste prejudices. It also suggested that initiatives at community level, compulsory training for civil servants, teachers and employees about caste sensitivity.

The observations were made during an application under section 482 CRPC, which stated that the cupboards of the accused persons in the FIR and other related documents were mentioned.
