The self-described Dagi-Destroyer has quite a history with Dagestan-based fighters at this point and when he detailed that, Davis said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yeah, I mean, I beat a Dagestani last time. Obviously I’m going to beat Usman and then I’m going to call for Khabib to retire. Because yeah, there won’t be any daggies from the Nurmagomedov school for me to beat. So I think Khabib should put those gloves back on.”
Khabib and Usman are both in Davis’ sights for PFL Dubai
While digging into the changes that led to him winning the 2025 PFL Tournament and overcoming his imposter syndrome to secure this instant title title, Davis stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“It’s like, it’s weird because last year everything fell into place. I’ve heard it said like if you want to give up, big things come. I wanted to give up and then big things started happening. It was like I was never really that spiritual or that kind of religious. But like after this year I kind of realized, wow, there’s something in there and like I’m kind of like, yeah.”
“So I’m coming down a path where I think everything happens for a reason and this fight the way my career is going and what’s happened, I feel like this is a new chapter. I think I need to give this entitled kid a lesson and yeah, really help the PFL brand bring it up. Because we need a star.”
“We need a big star. You know, I think Usman wants to leave for the UFC and I think once I beat Usman, I’ll be that star. Maybe Khabib can retire or I can continue to beat some more Dagestanis.”
