Alfa Romeo is coming back to Malaysia and the date has been set: November 20, next Thursday. The date was revealed in Alfa Romeo Malaysia’s latest teaser, which reads: “Power, perfectly balanced. Beauty, ready to move. The streets will soon glow again in Alfa Rosso. 20.11.2025.”
If you’re following this page, you’ve heard of concrete news about Alfa Romeo’s return to Malaysia – in an interview with Stellantis ASEAN Managing Director Isaac Yeo in August, he said paultan.org that Alfa Romeo and Jeep will return to our market with a ‘hybrid model system’ operating a ’boutique style’ business, which matches the low volume of the two legendary brands. Earlier this month, Alfa Romeo Malaysia welcomed registrations of interest for the Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV, both in the Veloce trim level, which sits below the full-fat Quadrifoglio versions in the sporty scale.
The duo is offered with the most powerful ‘standard’ engine: a 2.0-liter turbo-four that produces 280 hp and 400 Nm of torque from 2,250 to 4,500 rpm. With an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, the Giulia and Stelvio Veloce (the latter comes with all-wheel drive) do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds. A Q2 limited-slip rear differential is also standard.
The launch models will be CBU imports, so they won’t be cheap, but Stellantis is very proud of its Gurun factory. Soon, the Kedah factory will give Leapmotor EVs a leg up when CBU’s EV tax-free window closes. Could it also help Alfa Romeo with a CKD program and prices competitive with BMW and Mercedes-Benz? It may be unlikely, but stranger things have happened…
