Zverev and de Minaur will add to the already star-studded line-up Australian Open champion And Carlos Alcaraz, number 1 in the world (Team Europe) and World number 8 Taylor Fritz (Team World).
Zverev, a six-time Laver Cup participant and the event’s all-time top scorer, returns to London with unfinished business after last year’s defeat in San Francisco – the first Laver Cup defeat of his career.
The German was previously part of Team Europe’s title-winning squads Prague (2017), Chicago (2018), Geneva (2019), Boston (2021) And Berlin (2024), establishing himself as one of the most influential artists in the competition’s history.
Zverev also returns to London, a city where he has enjoyed significant success, including winning the ATP Finals at The O2 in 2018. He has had a strong start to the 2026 season, reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open, where he was defeated by teammate Alcaraz in a five-set battle.
“I always enjoy being part of the Laver Cup,” said Zverev. “The team atmosphere is incredible and the intensity is unlike anything else we play all year round. London is a great tennis city and the O2 for me is one of the most special stadiums in the world and has already provided some unforgettable moments for this event. I’m happy to return and hopefully we can win the title back for Team Europe.”
Team Europe Captain Yannick Noa welcomed Zverev’s return.
“Sascha understands this match as well as anyone,” said Noah. “He has been part of all of Team Europe’s Laver Cup victories over the years, and even in difficult moments he is someone the team can rely on. His experience, leadership and competitiveness will be hugely important to us as we look to win back the Cup.”
De Minaur, Team World’s top-ranked player and winner of last week’s ATP 500 event in Rotterdam, will compete in his third Laver Cup. After being part of Team World’s historic first title win in London in 2022, he played a crucial role again last year in San Francisco, winning all three of his matches to secure another victory for Team World.
“Laver Cup is one of the most intense and exciting weeks on the calendar,” said de Minaur. “Playing in London in 2022 was a special moment for our team, and San Francisco showed what this group is capable of. I loved playing under Andre last year and I’m really looking forward to going to London with him and the team again.”
Agassi said De Minaur’s impact in San Francisco reinforced why he is such a key figure within Team World.
“Alex is a fierce competitor and a consummate professional,” said Agassi. “Our week together in San Francisco gave me an even greater appreciation for him and what he brings to the team. I’m extremely excited to have him back as part of Team World.”
The 2026 edition marks the return of the Laver Cup to London, the site of one of the most iconic moments in tennis history, when Roger Federer played the last match of his career at The O2 in 2022 alongside his great rival Rafael Nadal and other “Big Four” members Novak Djokovic And Andy Murray.
With Team World having won three of the last four Laver Cup titles, Europe’s rivalry will reignite in front of a passionate London crowd. Fans can expect unparalleled matchups, never-before-seen doubles combinations and the world’s biggest tennis stars joining forces as teammates in the ultimate team competition.
