Nations who compete in the 2025 Davis Cup Qualifiers 2nd Round has announced their squadrons, with top 10 star Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Holger Rune all looking for their teams for the 2025 Davis Cup Final 8 in November.
Alcaraz and Rune will compete against a blockbuster between Spain and Denmark in Marbella, while the Minaur leads an Australian team that is accepting Belgium in Sydney.
Fritz and Shelton are accompanied in the American team by Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe, with all four men arranged in the top 20 of the PIF ATP ranking. US plays against a Czech Republic team that is also at full power, including Miami champion Jakub Mensik, Jiri Lehecka and Tomas Machac.
Among the other players selected for their nations are: Zizou Bergs (Belgium), Francisco Cerundlo (Argentina), Marin Clic (Crotia), Borna Coric (Croatia), Aljandro Davidooovich Fokina (Spain), Ugo Poprin, KeiiRIri.
Five tires take place on September 12-13. The collision of Australia with Belgium and Spain’s match-up with Denmark will be played on September 13-14.
Tires are played as best-of-five matches, with two singles matches on day one, followed by the Doubles competition and the two Reverse singles matches on day two. All matches are played as the best-of-three tie-break sets.
The seven winning countries in the 2nd round of the qualifications will be held at the World Champions last year at the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna 2025 in Bologna, held from November 18-23. The seven losing countries will compete in the 1st round of 2026 qualifications.
Furthermore, 26 Thuis-and-Weg Davis Cup tires also take place in September, with 13 tires in the World Group I and 13 tires in the World Group II. Team announcements for the tires of the World Group I and World Group II will be made on Tuesday 2 September.
