Alan Shearer: Liverpool would be ‘impossible to stop’ if they sign one player this month

Alan Shearer has claimed that Liverpool would be ‘impossible to stop’ in the Premier League this season if they in particular signed one player.

The Reds will start on Friday with the defense of their domestic crown against Bournemouth in Anfield, before they hired in Newcastle in St James’ Park 10 days later.

With a pretty subplot, that fixture on Tyneside comes to Alexander Isak in the midst of LFC’s, for whom the magpies have already rejected an opening offer of £ 110 million (The guardian), with the side of Eddie Howe that is considered £ 150 million for their top scorer from 2024/25 (27 goals in all competitions).

Shearer claims that Liverpool would not be stopped if they sign Isak

The 25-year-old was inevitably discussed during the last episode of The rest is footballIn which Shearer, Gary Lineker and Micah Richards gave their predictions for each Premier League team prior to the new campaign.

The first Match of the day Host noted that Liverpool would do that ‘Stop stop’ If they make Isak from Newcastle, with the ex-manchester city so far to say that the title race would be ‘completed’ If the transfer would materialize.

Geordie icon Shearer – who is naturally afraid of the prospect that his beloved magpies loses their star -striker to the Reds – Chimed in: “If they got him, the options they have at the top would just be incredible. They would be impossible to stop if they get Isak, I think.”

Liverpool’s firepower would be frightening if they would add Isak

Imagine a second that Liverpool ends up with the Swedish striker to join Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and Hugo Ekitike in their attack. That is a quartet that plundered 101 goals between them last season – talks about firepower in the last third part!

We have not even mentioned the input of Florian Wirtz, who called for 31 target contributions in 2024/25. Put all those options together and Arne Slot would really be spoiled for attacking choice.

It is a wonderful thought, but the current reality is that Isak remains a player in Newcastle and the Reds are only one forward line injury, away from entrusting in the non -planted and Exit-linked Federico Chiesa (left on the couch for the community shield) or talented yet raw teenagers such as Rio Ngumoha, Jayden Danns and Ben Doak.

Liverpool must also become much more difficult to play against, about the proof of the preseason. The bleeding of so many new players is a mitigating factor, because the collective effort of the team is of course to process the sorrow of Diogo Jota the death of Diogo Jota, but the concession of 10 goals in our last five games is a genuine care for the Premier League opener in four days.

It is certainly not as black and white as ‘sign isak and the title race is ready’, although the Reds will start the season as favorites to keep their title and rightly so, and they would certainly become an even more terrifying proposition if they land the Newcastle striker.
