Cristiano Ronaldo scored in both halves to lead Al-Nassr to a resounding 4-0 win over Al-Hazem to move them top of the Saudi Pro League.
Kingsley Coman was also in top form with a goal and two assists, while Jorge Jesus’ side took advantage of Al-Hilal’s points loss to propel them to the top.
Ronaldo saw a volley smothered in the opening 21 seconds, before Bento was twice forced into early action to deny both Abdulaziz Al Dhuwayhi and Omar Al Somah.
Coman then passed the ball to Ronaldo in the penalty area, with the 41-year-old firing the opener over Ibrahim Zaied from a tight angle in the 13th minute. The goal was initially disallowed for offside, after which VAR overturned the decision.
Coman then raced in behind Al-Hazem’s defense to meet Joao Felix’s low pass and slid in to double Al-Nassr’s lead after half an hour.
Ronaldo was then denied twice by the offside flag either side of half-time. Before the break he went too early before firing past Zaied on the turn, while a nice volley finish was also disallowed for clear offside.
Angelo added the home side’s third in the 77th minute, pushing his way past three Al-Hazem defenders to get into the penalty area before sliding a fine finish into the bottom left corner.
And Ronaldo finished the match with a brace, firing another powerful shot into the net from the left side of the penalty area after converting Coman’s lay-off.

Data debrief: Ronaldo is unstoppable
Ronaldo has now scored 20 goals for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League this season, as he continues his pursuit of a thousand career goals (now 964), and he shows no sign of stopping at the moment.
His first goal on Saturday was actually the 500th goal he scored after turning 30, having scored 463 goals before that.
He could easily have scored a hat-trick in a dominant display; he led Al-Nassr for shots (seven), shots on target (five), expected goals (1.33 xG) and touches in the opponent’s penalty area (12).
Al-Nassr have now won their last eight games in the league, a stunning run that has now put them in the driving seat of the title race.
