American off-spinner Akhilesh Reddy has been charged with three violations of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code and has been immediately suspended from all cricket activities. The 25-year-old is currently representing Aspin Stallions in the ongoing competition Abu Dhabi T10 2025now has fourteen days to respond to the complaint. What caused the charges?

The ICC’s anti-corruption unit booked Reddy for alleged misconduct during the tournament. The suspension comes after an investigation into activities suspected of being linked to match manipulation.

Charges filed against Reddy

He has been charged under the following sections:

• Article 2.1.1:
  Attempting to correct, influence or improperly influence the outcome, progress or conduct of a match in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025.

• Article 2.1.4:
  Encouraging or facilitating another participant to violate Article 2.1.1 during one or more matches of the tournament.

• Article 2.4.7:
  Obstructing the investigation by deleting data and mobile messages relevant to the investigation.

Performance before suspension

Reddy bowled four overs in the first two matches for Aspin Stallions and took one wicket. The franchise, coached by Harbhajan Singh, is now likely to replace him with Ashmead Nedd, the Guyanese left-arm spinner with 17 wickets in 20 T20 matches at 28.29.
