Agent points to trade while he feels ‘Crosby’s fear’ [Report]

According to Josh Yohe from athletics”If Brisson does indeed speak for his client, then there is reason to believe that Crosby’s frustration with the current state of the penguins is at a boiling point.” Yohe refers to Pat Brisson, the agent of Sidney Crosby, who made a number of very interesting remarks this week that teases that a trade from Pittsburgh might be best for his client.

Yohe adds: “I don’t think Crosby Brisson told you to make those comments. What I believe is that Brisson, who has known Crosby since the player was a boy, can feel the fear.” Yohe believes that Brisson may say what Crosby doesn’t want, but may feel.

He adds: “Maybe for the first time, what is best for Crosby is not what is best for the penguins, and vice versa.” The hint here is that one of the biggest stars in the game, who never wanted to play anywhere else than Pittsburgh, finally warms up the idea that it is time to go if the penguins are not competitive.

All this comes after Crosby spoke glowing about the Montreal Canadiens to write and NHL Insider Pierre Lebrun. Crosby insisted that he was not trying to leave bread crumbs, but that did not stop everyone connected the dots. Brisson was more emerging with what could be a reality. He said, “It is always a possibility … it all depends on how Sid is going to be and how the team will do.”

Everyone knows that the penguins will probably not do so well. That leaves the door wide open for the idea that Crosby and the team will have a sitdown at some point. The penguins will not mind. They rebuild and part of a successful rebuilding means moving valuable assets for futures. They can’t do that if Crosby wants to retire a penguin.

Crosby just has to wrap his head around the idea that he does not abandon the organization or fans in Pittsburgh. Yohe writes: “Crosby is not a bad guy if he wants to leave, if he thinks playing in a better team would be a nicer conclusion for his last seasons. Can you blame him?”
