After the official update of Newcastle United on Alexander Isak – this now seems to be the position

Where does that leave after the official club update about Alexander Isak?

That official update of Newcastle United supplied by Eddie Howe.

Who else would it be ???

Because everything is left to Eddie Howe, all responsibility. No one else in the Newcastle United -Hierarchy that gives the team boss a helping hand, nobody at all speaks on behalf of the club, apart from the Mercurial Head Coach.

Eddie Howe asked (see below) after the Espanyol -friendly about the situation of Alexander Isak, questioned whether the Sweden International has a future (or not) at Newcastle United.

After hearing what Eddie Howe had to say, this is what the position now seems to be:

First of all, when this week, Alexander Isak has told Eddie Howe that his preference still goes to another club (of which we all assume is Liverpool, because they are the only ones who are an offer (although a worn £ 110 million) and do not seem to have made other clubs in the last week).

Secondly, I also believe that a fairly clearly no acceptable offer has been made by a club that meets the Newcastle United valuation on Alexander Isak. Again, only that laughable £ 110m Liverpool offer for a player NUFC is generally reported as value for £ 150 million+.

Third and finally, Newcastle United has not bought a striker this summer so far.

Conclusions

It seems to be a stalemate right now.

Even if you believe that Newcastle United Alexander is selling Isak. To make that happen, there must first be an acceptable amount and a replacement striker in place.

I don’t think the chance that the club will sell unless both things take place in advance.

Liverpool is misled if they honestly think that they can get Alexander Isak cheap, by taking advantage of the situation that has presented. Or rather, the situation for which they are responsible. As others explained, if Liverpool wanted to do things well and absolutely wanted to sign Isak this summer. They absolutely knew that they should have made a good professional approach when last season ended and then made a credible offer. To wait two months before when their first formal approach and £ 110 million offer to Newcastle United, that is why we are now where we are now.

I think there is a huge chance that Alexander Isak will still be in Newcastle United after the transfer window is closed. That closes at 7 p.m. on Monday 1 September, with 23 days to go until that window closes, I just don’t believe that Liverpool will make a good offer. They are planning to get Alexander Isak cheaply, maybe they go up to £ 120 million, but that is of course not near the rating of United. They count on the Newcastle United owners and Eddie Howe who feel that it is impossible to hold a striker who said he wants to become a member of another club. If they think that, Liverpool is very wrong.

In no way Newcastle will allow itself to be bullied in such a deal. The idea that two years later Newcastle will be bullied to accept £ 110 million for a 25 -year -old Alexander Isak who has three years old about his contract … you laugh.

Yoane Wissa seems to be coming soon, but he is a replacement for Callum Wilson, not Alexander Isak. United would always add a second striker, so it will be Isak, or another (not Wissa) who replaces him, which will be seen as a NUFC next season.

Finally…

So when things stand out, I see one of the two things as the most likely results.

First potential outcome – after the first three Premier League matches we reach September, close the transfer window and there is an international break. After that international break, when Alexander Isak is still in Newcastle, he returns to group training and available for team selection.

Second potential outcome – at some point before we arrive until September, Liverpool admits that they have wasted the time of everyone involved, especially Alexander Isak. The scousers, even if only in private, makes it clear that Isak/Newcastle make it clear that they do not make a credible offer to sign the striker. Then a case of Eddie Howe who allows Alexander Isak in group training, almost certainly combined with a large group meeting with all the players present, who tells them the situation and that a line has been drawn underneath. Time now to return to a sort of ‘normal’ and this Alexander Isak Summer -puinhoop behind us all, for the well -being of the club and fans (and themselves as players).

Eddie Howe asked on Friday evening if Alexander Isak has a future at Newcastle United:

“He is here, so he naturally has a future in Newcastle.

“So, especially from our perspective, everyone connected to the club, we would like to see him again with the team.

“But the situation must be good to make that happen.

“He is here and he has contracted us, so as long as he is in that position, there is of course a chance that he could play for Newcastle again. But I don’t know what the future will entail.

“I wish Alex play today.

“I wish he will train tomorrow.

“We would love it that the player is with us. Let me make that absolutely clear, there is no part of me that that result does not want.

“But I don’t see that changing before the Aston Villa game.

“We have had discussions and it is clear that we cannot involve him in the group.

“I don’t know how long it will be. That’s the latter. I think I would rather just leave it with that line.

“I think the discussions should remain private. But it is clear that I cannot involve him in the team.

“I think the group is of course disturbed, but I think when you have a player in this situation, it is disturbing for the team.

“I don’t think we have been in that position since I have been here. The harmony and togetherness of the group have been the highest.

“So I think it was of course just a subject of conversation. It has been a distraction and I think the biggest kind of hit we have taken, we are not blessed with a number of players in his position. So I think you’ve seen a big gap.

“But I have to honor the players great because they continued their work. The training has been at a very high level. I have not seen a negative output on the field. But I was aware of feeling the group that there is something that is not in favor of the group.”
