AFCON 2025: 11 PL clubs hit by more call-ups than Liverpool

Liverpool will lose Mohamed Salah during Egypt’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, but there are 11 Premier League clubs who have been hit harder by the mid-season call-ups.

Salah has played his last game of 2025 for Liverpool – with debate surrounding whether this could be his last ever game for the club – and he now joins the Egyptian squad for AFCON.

While it is clear that losing their number 11 for a tournament that runs from December 21 to January 18 is a significant blow, the Reds are among those least affected in terms of numbers.
