One of the most decorated golfers in Australia and favorite at fans, Adam Scott today confirmed that he will return home in 2025 and one of the headliners of both the BMW Australian PGA championship of 27-30 November and Heren Australian Open from 4-7 December.
The first Australian who won the Masters, Scott is a double winner of the Kirkwood Cup in his home State Queensland and a one-off Australian Open winner, with the former World No.1 who has close relationships with both guest locations.
A junior member of Royal Queensland Golf Club, host of the BMW Australian PGA, Scott’s 2013 Masters Winning Clubs are shown permanently in the clubhouse of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, where he again goes the top-to-head with the current Masters Champion Rory McIlroy for the Stonehaven Cup.
“Australia will always be at home and return to compete for the passionate and expert fans is always a fun way to end the year,” Scott said.
“It is always exciting to play in Queensland, and especially at RQ where I spent time developing my game. Every time you play Royal Melbourne is special, and although I have many good memories of competing there, there will be my first Australian open, there will be special.”
Currently on the right track to become a member of Jack Nicklaus as the only players who contest 100 consecutive large championships, with the 2026 US Open the Potential Century Celebration, Scott returns home with the top 10s in his latest performances at the two major events of Australia.
Tied for sixth place at the PGA championship 2023, Scott was late in the mix on Sunday for a second Australian Open Crown, with more silverware in his home country in Scott’s sights while he wants to add to his 28 official victories worldwide.
“It is an honor to have both the BMW Australian PGA and Australian Open on my CV, and I would like nothing more than to win home for family and friends,” said the 44-year-old.
“Both trophies have honor rolls full of the biggest names in not only Australian Gulf, but world golf, and when you can be successful at the end of the year, always ensures a nice break and sense of satisfaction.
“The summer of Golf Thuis has recently been a constant conversation point on tour, and it will be great to have a real international field with our courses and world -class players.”
Completed as a confirmed starter for the BMW Australian PGA championship of title defender Elvis Smylie, Scott will make his 17th performance in his home state event where he owns nine top 10s and claimed the title in 2019.
He will also make his 17th start at the Australian Open, where he is again in the top 10 of nine times.
The double challenger PGA Tour from Australazia Order of Merit winner will reverse the score with McIlroy who came out in 2013 from their fight when Scott was the newly beaten Masters winner.
“We are very happy that Adam will again be part of the two most important tournaments of our summer. The expectation to Messrs Australian Open of this year in Royal Melbourne will rise by day,” said Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland.
“Confirmed with Rory and Adam, and more announcements that come, it seems that Golffans have decided that this is an event not to miss.”
PGA van Australia CEO Gavin Kirkman said: “Adam has always been one of the big supporters of the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia.
“The efforts of our overseas players to return home after a long year is greatly appreciated, and after I fought again in the Majors in 2025, I am sure that Adam will focus on another of our biggest trophies in Australian Golf.”
Scott will also dispute the Cathedral Invitational in Cathedral Lodge in 2025, where he claimed the victory on an exciting last day in 2023
