The 15-man selection consists of 10 players from last year’s tournament. Sediqullah Atal, AM Ghazanfar and Qais Ahmad were also part of the squad last year and are also part of the line-up this time. Rasooli led Afghanistan A to the Rising Stars Asia Cup title last year. There are three reserve players who are also shortlisted by the ACB.
Atal had scored a run-a-ball 55 against Sri Lanka A to win the final for Afghanistan A. He is also a regular member of Afghanistan’s senior white-ball team, having played 22 T20Is, 12 ODIs and one Test. Ghazanfar has represented Afghanistan in all formats since his international debut in 2024. Qais, meanwhile, last played for the national setup in 2024.
Afghanistan A have been placed in Group B with Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A and Hong Kong. Their campaign will kick off on November 15 (Saturday) against Sri Lanka A. This will be followed by matches against Bangladesh A on November 17 (Monday) and Hong Kong on November 19 (Wednesday).
