Not what we want to see from Kerkez
Kerkez is a great left back that has delivered a brilliant version in our 1-0 win over Arsenal a few weeks ago, brilliantly dealing with the considerable threat of Noni Madueke.
Unfortunately we cannot approve his act of simulation at Turf Moor, which Oliver immediately saw through and did not hesitate in punishment with a yellow card.
It left the Hungary international skating on thin disciplinary ice and he didn’t even get the peace, with Arne Slot withdrew the 21-year-old for his own best will and Andy Robertson took in his place.
When Kerkez is at his best, he is a terrier who offers a flank that Liverpool offers a real attacking threat, just like his older positional colleague and teammate in his Prime.
Let’s hope that he would not repeat his ‘stupid’ moment of simulation in the future – he would be mad if an opponent did in the fine of the Reds, and rightly so.
