The $ 1 million Pennsylvania Derby on Saturday is the characteristic race on Parx Racing and Koppen a 15-race card with seven other posts and a second selection framework in the $ 1 million Cotillion Stakes for 3-year-old mares.
The Pennsylvania Derby is a final shot for talented 3-year-olds to pick up a degree 1 victory in a two-turn race against horses of their own age, and the deep field of 10 was undoubtedly partly due to the absence of division stars sovereignty and journalism. Indeed, Pennsylvania Derby participants Baeza, Targeted, Gosger and Magnitude are all ended in the top three behind those two classic winners in degree 1 races.

Mike Curry:
There is an abundance of speed in the Pennsylvania derby, so I am happy that the three horses I like for my trifecta have been effective of the pace. I really think Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve/Belmont Stakes presented by Nyra Bets Third place Fininer #8 Baeza and preakness stakes runner-up #9 Gosger are striking in this area. They both performed consistently against Elite competition during the spring in the summer and I would be surprised if the winner did not come from that pair. I will try to beat both #3 Magnitude and #6 in the race. I think they can be affected and fade late. Because I use two of the three favorites, I will not spread much here. I will complete my Trifecta by using the second place of Curlin Stakes #1 So Sandy In the second and third slots. The Omaha Beach Colt has run two very good races (a victory and the Curlin-Tweede) at this distance of 1 1/8 miles and it seems that he has discovered this spring for trainer Cherie Devaux.
Strategy for a budget of $ 20:
$ 10 trifect: #8 baeza and #9 gosger of #1 So Sandy, #8 Baeza and #9 Gosger, of #1 So Sandy, #8 Baeza and #9 Gosger ($ 40)
Noel Michaels:
The Pennsylvania Derby has an evenly tailored field with various large contenders, but the race really has the appearance of the long -awaited degree 1 that comes out #8 Baezawho distinguished itself in third place in both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. In six races so far this year, only sovereignty, journalism and Rodriguez could beat him; There is no shame in it. None of those rivals showed up for this race and Saturday finally looks like Baeza’s day. Another horse that knocks on the door is #9 Gosger, The second ended behind journalism in both preaksness stakes and the grade 1 Nyra Bets Haskell Stakes. A fast pace seems very likely to be in this race and Gosger will end soon after getting a pleasant stalking trip. Which version of #3 Magnitude Shall we see on Saturday? He earned large speed figures in wire-to-wire victories in the grade 2 phasig-fillon risen star stakes and the $ 250,000 Iowa Derby, but was nowhere to be found on the last time in Saratoga’s grade 1 draft travers stakes. If we see a good size instead of a bad size, we can look at an upset.
Strategy for a budget of $ 50:
$ 5 trifecta box: #3 Magnitude, #8 Baeza, #9 Gosger ($ 30)
$ 10 trifect: #8 Baeza of #3 Magnitude and #9 gosger, of #3 Magnitude and #9 Gosger ($ 20)
And Tordjman:
Although he has not won a race since the beginning of May, #6 Targeted Open my eyes with his performance in the Haskell Stakes. His result in that race, a third place, hardly tells the whole story. Targeted Brak broke sharp, as he always does, and stayed close to a very hot early pace. Yet he was able to retain enough energy to set up a huge fight against both #9 Gosger and journalism (which both were cooked in the last steps of the race). While Gosger returns for the Pennsylvania Derby, Goal Oriented feels for me as the one who has found a new dimension and who may still take a step forward. That said, here is how I play the Trifecta.
Strategy for a budget of $ 55:
$ 5 trifect: #6 Targeted of #8 Baeza, #9 Gosger and #10 Mo Plex of #8 Baeza, #9 Gosger and #10 Mo Plex ($ 30)
$ 1 trifet: #6 Targeted, #9 Gosger and #10 Mo Plex of #6 Targeted, #9 Gosger and #10 Mo Plex of #1 So Sandy, #4 David of Athens, #6 Targeted, #8 Baeza, #9 Gosger and #10 Mo Plex ($ 24)
