Only the real quantities of armor races can transcend the sport.
Blacks a fake did it almost 20 years ago and are now jumping to Fame’s amazing acts also cutting in mainstream.
The Glamor pair of Queensland Racing, Ben and Stephanie Thompson, have joined the huge jump to fame, or just “Larry” for his fans, has pulled himself out of the bubble of his own sport.
Hall of Fame -Trainer John Hawkes, Top Victorian trainer Mick Price and Star Jockeys such as Blake Shinn, Tommy Berry and Tyler Schiller all wonder and follow Leap to Fame’s Deeds closely.
“I think if you are a sport enthusiast, you will be awe of any nature,” Ben Thompson said. “To think that one person, horse or greyhound can be so much better than the rest is quite surprising.”
The Thompsons took the time-out of their busy thoroughbred obligations and two young children to visit Leap to Fame and this week trainers Grant and Trista Dixon meet, while the richest earner of Australasia prepared for a race track of all time.
Spring to Fame, who has not raced since winning his second Brisbane Inter Dominion -final on July 19, will be tried in Albion Park tomorrow (Thursday), while focusing on more Grout 1 Glory in Victoria and then Nieuw -Zeeland.
“Steph and I first came in the pride and looked at King of Swing a few years ago and then jumped with it,” Ben Thompson said. “We now have a family chat group and it’s all about jumping to fame when he racet.
“It was great to see him in the flesh and in his own environment. He is not an impressive horse, but as Steph said, we saw a few other horses for him and you immediately notice his presence and aura, as if he knows he is good.
“It was a privilege to see him and spend some time talking about all the things racing with Grant and Trista, who look great people.”
Ben Thompson grew up by knowing other racing codes, with his father and mother, Jason and Seona Thompson, who were at the top of the tree as Greyhound trainers.
“Yes, I have treated many dogs in my time and I like to look at the pride. I am all three codes,” he laughed. “Maybe I have to drive a pacer next to reality.”
Thompson returned to Queensland in July after a successful and hard -working stint of 18 months in Hong Kong and had an immediate impact.
“It was great in HK, but it is so good to be home again, especially with two young children,” he said.
Just like jump to Roem, Thompson will fly the Interstate of Queensland in the coming weeks.
“I have the ride on Travolta in the Metropolitan on Saturday week before Chris Waller,” he said. “It is a race that I drove in the land legend last year and it led to a Caulfield Cup ride, so I hope it will open doors for some large Melbourne rides too.”
After the (Thursday) test of tomorrow, Spring to Fame will have a start -up race in Albion Park before he goes south for the $ 250,000 Group 1 Victoria Cup in Melton on October 18.
Then he goes even further away for the iconic $ NZ1 million NZ Cup in Addington in Christchurch on November 11.
