Aaron Judge is officially on the shelf.
The Yankees placed the dual mvp on the 10-day injured list on Sunday, one day after he was diagnosed with the right flexor voltage.
The place of the judge on the active schedule was filled before the Sunday final against the Phillies by Utilityman Amed Rosario, who acquired the Yankees on Saturday evening in an exchange with the Nationals.
The former with both the Infield and the Outfield plays and gives the Yankees insurance beyond their new early field from Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham and Jasson Domínguez.
There had been cries of the fan base for top perspective Spencer Jones to be called to be replaced Judge, but the red-hot midfielder missed Friday and the matches of Saturday in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with back spasms.
He is also not yet on the 40-man schedule, and with the Yankees who are expected to do more transactions in the coming days prior to Thursday’s deadline, they must retain some flexibility with opening places on the 40-man.
Everson Pereira and Bryan de la Cruz are the two triple-a-outfielders who are on the 40-man Roster. The Yankees could have chosen to bring one of them in addition to activating Rosario, but this would have done to designate Oswald Peraza for assignment. That can still happen in the coming days or weeks, but for now the Yankees keep their depth.

As far as the judge is concerned, the Yankees hope that they have avoided a bullet due to the MRI from Saturday who reveal the elbow flexor voltage and not UCL damage. They believe that he could come from the IL after a minimum stay and then strictly DH on his return before he started to rise.
The Yankees on Sunday also called for Lefty Brent -Headrick as a new arm for a battered bullpen after opting of Allan Winans on Saturday evening.
