The International Cricket Council (ICC) has charged a player from the United States of America (USA). Aaron Jones with five breaches of the anti-corruption codes of Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the ICC. Jones has been provisionally suspended from all cricket with immediate effect and has 14 days from January 28 to respond to the allegations.
The charges mainly relate to the 2023-2024 Bim10 tournament, which falls under the jurisdiction of the CWI Anti-Corruption Code, while two other charges relate to international matches (which fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC Code).
Jones has been charged with the following crimes:
- Violation of Article 2.1.1 of the CWI Code – To improperly repair, attempt to repair or otherwise improperly influence, or be party to any agreement or attempt to repair, contrive or otherwise improperly influence in any way (or attempt to do so) the outcome, progress, conduct or any other aspect of matches in the Bim10 Tournament in 2023/2024.

- Violation of article 2.4.4 of the CWI Code – Failure or refusal to cooperate with a reasonable investigation conducted by the designated anti-corruption officer (or his/her designee) regarding possible violations under the CWI Code.
- Violation of Article 2.4.4 of the ICC Code – Failure to disclose to the ICC ACU all details of any approaches or invitations received to engage in corrupt conduct under the ICC Code.
- Violation of Article 2.4.7 of the ICC Code – Obstructing the ACU’s investigation into possible corrupt conduct by concealing and/or tampering with information that may have been relevant to the investigation, or that may have constituted evidence or led to the discovery of evidence of corrupt conduct.
The charges are part of a broader investigation that will likely result in additional charges being filed against other participants in due course.
