A walk around AFITITZ See

A walk around AFITITZ See

Day 3 of the Feld am See Tournament (Signs are here); I played one game in the first three days, although tomorrow, Thursday, I finally play both singles and Doubles.

Vicki Buholz won her Semi 60 60 and played a pretty flawless game. We are warmed up (elaborated?) But in the early morning.

After Vicki’s afternoon game Vicki, her husband Steve, MJ & Rudy Pachl and I drove to Afritz See and walked around the lake, which was a nice walk, especially on the side, not on the busy road. Afitz See is considerably larger than Brennsee (the lake that sees on the Feld AM), with a length of 1.5 km and about 0.4 km wide compared to Brennsee with a similar width but less than 1/2 miles long.

There are a few small summer houses on the north side of the lake where we started and the settlement of Afitz is on the south side (and has some tennis courts). The west side of the lake, away from the road, has a beautiful shady, albeit a bit rocky path and the east side borders on the road that goes from Villach to Gmund.

After our walk, Vicki and I went to the Kleine Kerk in Feld am See (built in 1787) and walked around the adjacent cemetery that was planted with summer flowers on almost every grave. It was a peaceful end of the afternoon.

It was a sunny but cool day today … a warm -up is predicted and no more rain this week! Yes!
