A travel Friday with travel fever – tomorrow I’m going to Uzbekistan! – Travel Friday

Yesterday the plane tickets ended up in the e-mail basket. Arlanda against Tashkent via Istanbul. It’s a mind-boggling thought that (if everything goes according to plan!) I will soon be in Uzbekistan. Here comes Friday five of this week, this time with a not entirely well-known destination as the common thread.

A travel Friday with travel fever – tomorrow I’m going to Uzbekistan!

#1. Uzbekistan!? Didn’t you just come home from Korea?

seoul med lisa/let’s explore.

Yes, I did. That is why it was not at all obvious to blush the schedule here at home to accept this press trip. On the other hand, I would probably regret it if I didn’t take the opportunity! The trip is therefore a press trip via Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Communication about practical details takes place via Peter and Helena/Freedom Travels who were recently appointed official tourist ambassadors for Uzbekistan. They are also going on the trip, together with some other bloggers and journalists. This week I’ve been working in all directions to get all the must-go – and in the end I’m actually in a good phase. This will be fun!

By the way, this photo on the map in front of my plane seat from Seoul – the fact is that we almost flew over Tashkent on the way home to Copenhagen.

#2. Where is Uzbekistan actually located?

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan -Do you recognize the names of the “Långbortistan countries!? These former Soviet states are countries that I certainly have a good look at from a purely geographical perspective, but it was not really on the map that I would go to this part of the world in the foreseeable future. The countries are located in the area that is now usually called Central Asia. Perhaps you have heard of them Zijdevägeni.e. the collective name for the medieval trade routes between China and Europe? These roads ran across this particular part of the world.

#3. To travel -pod while traveling along Silkvägen (and to -stanlands)

What’s extra nice is of course that Lisa and I have recorded an entire podcast section about it Zijdevägen And the “stanzas” from a few years ago. The episode was released on March 1, 2020, just before… Yeah, you all know what happened next.

Johnny to travel capsule

We were struggling to get to grips with both Central Asia and the countries nearby and so invited a super expert into the travel pod to sort out the concepts. Few people in Scandinavia can see this part of the world as well as Johnny Friskil – Transferor, experienced traveler and reblog. Now I (and maybe you?!) have reason to go back and listen to the current column that offers a lot of inspiration about Uzbekistan, among other things.

Here is a direct link to the section.

#4. Inspiration from other travel bloggers

Before the upcoming adventure and departure, I read a lot about the country…

… And it gets stuck, among other things, with the descriptions and photos of Sofia/Fantasytrips who went there on a private trip a few years ago with Katarina/Finally Vilse: Trains along the Silk Road in Uzbekistan. Other travel bloggers who have been there on previous press trips have moved past that FreedomTravel Also 4000milDaniela/Discovering the planet and Christian/Matochreseblogging.

#5. Join us on Instagram!

It is an intensive program that awaits the coming days, but I will try to post some stories on Instagram between the yards. Feel free to hang it with a twist underneath Account travel Friday. Now I’ll go back to the backpack and maybe take a look at the pile of summer clothes. I was told that the temperature is about 25-27 degrees during the day and 10-15 degrees at night. It sounds excellent, even if it feels a bit tough to give up when autumn is at its best in Sweden.

Happy weekend!
