A summary of my 2025. – Travel Friday

Yes, here it comes, my summary of 2025 in blog format. Anyone who wishes can warm up by reading a Midyear Atonement 2025, written from the sickbed on a summer day in July, but I think this compilation post will do just fine.

Here you go, for a taste of my last twelve months on earth!

A summary of 2025 in blog format.

#1. Which song can sum up your overall state of mind for the year and why?

Maybe Zara Larsson’s “Midnight Sun” will be the theme for the first part of the year = cheerful, friendly and carefree.

oh manure

Because my 2025 has been good in many ways. Hey, I’ve really traveled to places I could only dream of before. I have also spent an unusual amount of time at home in Karlskrona and am organized in different ways here at home. Nevertheless, by the end of the year the feeling was both heavy and powerless. Right now I’d rather listen to Whatever happens, whatever happens then midnight sun:

“It hasn’t been my best year, it hasn’t been my worst year. But on this day in late December, it’s hard to remember what the intention was.”

On the other hand, as you know, I like a fresh start. Soon the light will return, and so on.

#2. Which countries have you visited (other than Sweden)?

the Faroe Islands

The year started with a long stay on Koh Lanta – a stay that was followed by trips to Denmark (Legoland), the Faroe Islands, Greece, Poland, South Korea and Uzbekistan, before ending strong with another trip to Denmark (Copenhagen). 2025 was undeniably a good year!

#3. Most proud of?

To be honest, 2025 was kind of a gap year. Sometimes it feels like I don’t really have that accomplished, but rather plowed on. There are definitely things I’m proud of! I will always be proud of this blog and of course the padel hall! But they’ve been around for a few years now. If I had to choose something that might stand out a little extra in terms of pride this year, I would choose…

…the driving. Over the years I have become increasingly cowardly in that regard. This year it just had to be enough for fear to keep me from several adventures! That attitude took me, among other things, along the roads of Poland during my and my sister’s successful castle tour on a business trip at the end of the summer. Maybe this whole driving abroad thing is a bit of a joke to the rest of you, but for me it actually falls under the heading of “Most Proud Of”.

#4. Have you created or strengthened a new habit?

yoga Koh Lanta

I promised myself to do yoga and walk more this year. I got strong in Thailand, took an extended break, and picked up the yoga classes toward the end of the year, the same way I got my gym card.

#5. Best summer memory in 2025?

Cassandra, Greece

Always with the family, big and small. Weddings for the children’s cousins, the family trip to Greece and a few weeks in Sturkö – I cherish these summer memories very much!

#6. TV series of the year

Adolescence, for sure. It brought up so many thoughts.

#7. Love story of the year?

No one who excelled right away, right? I think all couples who manage to stay together through thick and thin should be commended.

#8. Best buy?

shopping in Östersund

I finally found some littered Icebugs. I understand that this type of shoe has occasionally saved a thigh collar.

#9. Did something really make you happy?

Baby

A new nephew made me Real Cheerful! I love babies and find it hard not to believe in higher powers when I think about the life cycle.

#10. Greatest musical experience?

dear evan hansen intimate

Definitely listen to our eldest child’s solo at the big cousin’s wedding this summer. I also enjoyed watching the Evan Hansen musical with Sebbe!

#11. Were you happier or sadder this year than previous years?

Hard to tell with a straight arm. Maybe both.

#12. Something you wished for and got/dream of the year that came true/family event of the year

Ko Lanta

Returning to Koh Lanta for another stay at Lilla Svenska Skolan. On the other hand, I cannot describe leaving the two eldest children at home during the same period as a “dream come true”. A dream scenario would have been to take the whole gang, but those days are over.

#13. What have you spent the most money on?

currency Uzbekistan

The children naturally go on various outings.

#14. What made you feel good?

Non-stressful days and unplanned time, but also to ‘check off’ things I promised myself.

#15. Something you wanted and didn’t get?

Norra Kvill National Park Småland

More time with my Toppforms gang!

#16. This is what I learned not 2025

Annika padel hall

To wear less black. I also haven’t learned to spend a reasonable amount of time on pointless scrolling.

#17. How did the word of the year for 2025 go?

My watchword was action. I’ll be back with a separate post about my thoughts on fulfillment!

#18. Important insight I gained about myself during the year?

Annika Myhre

It’s not exactly a new insight, but I REALLY don’t feel good about stress. I am becoming less and less resistant to stress every day. If I had to choose, I would never want to experience stress again.

#19. of the year”Finally it was done”?

Resmine photo calendar

Last year I tackled a huge project to create photo albums of all my and Tobias’ years together as a couple (an album for each year). I got the hang of it and this year I started sorting my physical photos. Many of them now sit up and form a photo wall in my office. Analog Annika is rejoicing.

#20. This year’s stressor/challenge?

padel nynäshamn

Being self-employed twice is definitely fun in many ways, but this year I’ve questioned our self-employment choices both once and twice. I’ll leave it at that.

#21. Debate of the year?

subjects botox

AI! Definitely AI. But also war and beauty ideals. I think this September screenshot from my Instastory sums up the 2025 discussions pretty well.
