It goes without saying that we love to travel. The love list can easily get long! But are there also things we hate about traveling…? Now ‘hate’ is a very strong word, but there are of course things that are less nice…
A list of pluses and minuses

Love!
We’ll start with a few things we like about traveling.
- Resfeber! That strong feeling of excitement and anticipation, mixed with a little nervousness – we don’t always feel it anymore, but some exotic destinations and experiences offer it!
- The energy we get when traveling! When we are at home, we often feel tired and have no energy. When we travel it is often busy, and yet we still feel like we are sheep energy of everything that happens.
- Meeting people! Places and sights in all their glory, but meeting people all over the world is something special. New insights and memories for life!
- New flavors! Food is a big part of a trip for us. We love everything from fine dining to street food and home cooked meals. Spices, aromas and taste experiences… delicious!
- Freedom in a camper! To be able to drive where the nose points. Being able to stop whenever you feel like it. Such a trip is the best of all!
Hate!
And then we come to the negative side…
- I keep missing the flight/ferry! Maybe it’s traffic chaos or airport queues, whatever the reason terrible feeling like you’re about to miss a departure. Terrible!
- Forgetting/getting rid of things! You can’t imagine how often we neglect important things (and sometimes we actually lose something). Stress bonus luxury!
- Technical problems! It could be that the internet is down, the drone won’t fly, or something in the camper no longer works. Not pleasure!
- Skyscrapers and glass elevators! Neither of us are particularly fond of skyscrapers, but I (Helena) am also afraid of heights. Hates having to ride high up in a building. Glass elevator? Hate!
- Tourists showing no respect! Everyone can make mistakes sometimes, but if you deliberately ignore local customs, we get a little sick to our stomachs. I don’t know if ‘hate’ is the right word, but it feels uncomfortable…
