Leicester City man Victor Kristiansen does confirmed he underwent surgery after a knee injury.
Leicester City saw several players leave in the summer transfer window after relegation from the Premier League.
One man who stayed was Danish left back Victor Kristiansen. Many expected him to leave, as he spent the last championship campaign on loan at Bologna, but injury probably lost his chances.
The 22-year-old has been in and out of contention recently, but had to be substituted after 64 minutes against Blackburn Rovers. It was his first start since his return and since then there have been concerns about his knee.
It remains to be seen how long he will be out, but Kristiansen is confirmed on Instagram that he has undergone another operation, his second operation in three months. He wrote: “Second operation in three months. Thanks to Mr Andy Williams and his team. It’s been a tough period, but next year will definitely be mine.”
Victor Kristiansen promises to return stronger amid Leicester City’s injury problems
As previously mentioned, it has been a challenging campaign for Kristiansen so far. The Dane was previously out with a jaw injury that required surgery and returned with protection around the lower half of his face.
He will rue his luck in suffering a new, unusual injury so soon in his comeback. However, after a successful operation, the focus is now back on recovery.
Kristiansen will be keen to do what he can to get LCFC back into the Premier League after staying put last summer. He also has a place in Denmark’s squad to try and make a comeback, which will only stoke the fire in his belly.
It remains to be seen how long he will be looking out. Caution will be taken in his comeback to ensure he can avoid setbacks and return as quickly and safely as possible.

Marti Cifuentes’ Leicester City left-back options
Luke Thomas has been the go-to at left back for Leicester City so far this season. Kristiansen’s start against Blackburn Rovers marked the first time the academy graduate has been left out of a Championship starting XI under Cifuentes.
He took his place in the team against Middlesbrough in the following match. However, it was captain Ricardo Pereira who started on the left against Norwich City last time.
Those two will likely battle for spots in the squad, while Bade Aluko can always get a look from the academy.
It means Cifuentes has plenty of cover, although he hopes there will be no further injury concerns.
