All things considered, the Philadelphia 76ers are off to a more than respectable start this season. They currently have a 14-10 win-loss record, which is good for fourth place in the East going into Monday night. However, the same cannot be said for the LA Clippers, who have been one of the biggest disappointments in the league thus far.
Why would 76ers fans even notice the disaster that had already unfolded in LA? Well, it just so happens that the franchise will benefit immensely as the Clippers continue to unravel this season and beyond. After all, they own their first-round pick in 2028, while also owning the rights to trade first-round picks in the following year.
That might be the best draft pick the 76ers have in their draft capital war chest, which they managed to replenish two years ago when they traded James Harden to the Clippers. While nothing is set in stone, the Clips are poised to hit rock bottom soon enough, and that will certainly allow the team to get another star for the future.

The Western Conference is as deep as it gets, and despite high expectations before the season started due to the big names they were able to grab in free agency, the Clippers have only been able to manage six wins in their first 25 games, and are currently ranked 14th in the West.
LA has the oldest roster in the league – and it’s not even close. They have an average age of 31.2 years (for context, the Kings have an average age of 29.6 years), and there is little to suggest that the worm will eventually turn for them.
Besides the disaster they pulled off with Bradley Beal and Brook Lopez, as well as the messy divorce they just had with Chris Paulthe Clippers have a lot of problems on their roster. They have a very predictable offense and their lack of astuteness as a defensive team is even more apparent.
This is a sinking ship and there’s a good chance it will turn over in future seasons. As mentioned, they are far too old to remain among the best teams in the league, and both Kawhi Leonard and James Harden are declining.
