Ryder Cup Week is only a few days away, made clear by each team that organizes training camps on their respective sides of the Atlantic Ocean-Om None of Team Europe’s Collective Pilgrimage to Long Island on Sunday evening for a two-day romp around Bethpage Black.
For now we have currently completed all the necessary questions with their likely answers.
1. Which player has changed his mind this weekend?
Tyrrell Hatton. Not only because he shares a story of an epic hangover so comfortably. But mainly because he really came back in shape at Wentworth. Hatton had quietly not played so well since he just came shy at the US Open in Oakmont. He played solid with Royal Portrush, but his LIV golf performance amounted to T23, T21, T34 and T32.
In a competition of only 54 players … that is very good! But Hatton was back to his typically solid himself at the BMW championship and only finished four shots back in a draw for the fifth. He has more Ryder Cup experience than most observers give him the honor, dating from those 2018 competitions in France.
2. Okay, who will probably combine together?
That is why the form of Hatton matters. He played a lot with Jon Rahm In Rome and will now probably play a couple with Rahm in New York. It is almost a certainty that they are linked three times, and all four non-singles matches also play in the game. They have played the last two cups three times together and have to lose another point.
Scottie Scheffler And Russell Henley seem to be destined to be linked together, but I would not be shocked if Bradley falls apart. (They are only two of the best players in the world.) The spanting nature JJ Spaun – who practiced with both last week – would supplement Scheffler or Henley. Spaun’s Ball-Triking has been as good as just about everyone in this event (Scheffler has of course excluded), so every combination of these three games seems logical.
3. Do you want a top -hand schedule? Or a deep?
The Americans have the best player in the world. His name is Scott Scheffler. The Europeans have the following three Dear players. Their names are Rory Mcilroy” Jon Rahm And Tommy Fleetwood.
Which team do you choose?
Every step you take further on the list, the better it is looking for the Americans. The “worst” five players – in expected skill, according to Datagolf – are all Europeans.
So again, which team do you choose?
The answer, as I fully laid out here, could still be Europeans. Doing your best players is really the key to winning a Ryder Cup, and that was never clear than with Marco Simone two years ago.
4. Whose form is disturbing?
When 10 out of 10 Americans make the natural tendency in the Procore field, the natural tendency – if we are really worried about form – are the two players who were not in the field: Xander Schauffelewho just became a first father, and Bryson Dechambeauwho was not allowed to play. Both players had moments of greatness in 2025, but both players usually made the team on the merits of their success in 2024. That raises an important question: play one of them four games? For both to play five games, feels unlikely.
Looking over the aisle, a similar situation is brewing. Sepp sleek Also recently welcomed a newborn in his family, and although he will be two days of the team camp in Bethpage this week, his form has been much less consistent in recent months than spring. Rasmus Hojgaard Was one of the two Europeans who missed the cut in Wentworth, a course that starts in the same way as Bethpage. However, it was not a bad put week for Hojgaard. It wax Bad from the tee – his typical strong suit – and his iron game was even worse. Is that more relevant than its previous three weeks, which ended in the top 15 finishes?
We let you kick that around the water cooler, but add those two paragraphs together and you have two questions about higher Americans … and two questions about lower Europeans.
Also received a vote: Justin Thomas. We are monitoring JT, whose form has been Topsy-Turling in recent weeks. He is probably the lifeline of this schedule, with more experience than any other American captains. Does this mean that he gets an automatic four games, even if about half of his rounds since the Portrush has been under the Tour average?
5. Who seems the most chosen?
Ludvig Aberg – Six straight top 25s. Matt Fitzpatrick – Seven top 10s in nine events. Ben Griffin -Now the 5th best golfer in the world ranked by Datagolf. Scottie SchefflerOf course – he has been called for about three years now. Scheffler’s likely partner, Russell Henley – has not been ready outside the top 20 since the beginning of June. And finally, on the chosen front …
6. Who will surprise us next week?
Justice for Sam is burning.
That all seems to add a bit of pressure to Burns’ playing next week. But the results of such team competitions can cheat. Burns was actually the third best American at the Cup 2023, well combined with Collin Morikawa On the way to washing Viktor HOVOLAND and Ludvig Aberg 4 and 3 (in a much forgotten match) and then unbeaten (3-0-1) on the 2024 President Cup in Montreal. So is it really a question why he is in this team? Or is the best putter on the planet an active ready to break out in a large way in New York? Add me to Team Burns, which happens to be T4, T7 and T13 finishes in the past month.
