A new study has warned that the falling vaccination rates in the United States can cause a dramatic revival of diseases that were eradicated years ago.
What happened: On Sunday, former American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Scott Gottlieb Share an investigation into X with the emphasis on the consequences of America’s turn to the skepticism of vaccine and a policy framework that increasingly makes the same possible.

He emphasized the stunning projections from the study, “51.2 [million] Measles cases over a period of 25 years, 9.9 [million] Rubella cases, 4.3 [million] Poliomyelitis Fells, 197 Difterie Fallen, 10.3 [million] hospital admissions and 159,200 dead. “
The projections of the Stanford University study are based on a scenario in which the recording of vaccine drops by 50%, at what time it believes that measles can only reach endemic levels within only 5 years.
Even at the current vaccination levels, the study estimates an 83% chance that will return to measles within two decades within two decades.
The study also projects 9.9 million Rubella cases, 4.3 million polio cases and nearly 11,000 cases of congenital Rubella syndrome in the event of steep falls in vaccination. The prediction includes no fewer than 5,400 cases of paralytic polio, a disease that was eliminated in the US in 1979.
These findings come in the midst of rising anti-vaccine sentiments in the country, together with proposed policy balances on vaccine mandates.
Why it matters: The Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Robert F. Kennedy JRhas been supervised, among other things, for the distribution of wrong information about vaccine.
Last week, a senior vaccine official at the FDA, Peter marksDeducted from his position, accused Kennedy of actions that were harmful to public health.
This is also the midst of extensive budget and job reductions on the Federal Healthcare Department, including the FDA, the National Institute of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which can effectively perform their duties.
