5 tips for hotels with a swimming pool in the city of Stockholm – Travel Friday

We all have different preferences when it comes to hotel bookings. Some want the best breakfast, some consider location the absolute most important, while others prioritize different types of facilities. This post is for anyone looking for tips on hotels with a pool in Stockholm city. I have a number of recurring searches (and answers!) about this on the blog. Keep credit!

5 tips for hotels with a swimming pool in Stockholm city

#1. Hotel Reisen (Gamla Stan)

This five-star hotel in Gamla Stan houses one of Stockholm’s absolute coolest hotel pools. Reisen’s spa department is hidden in the basement under cross vaults that were built at the end of the 17th century (and fortunately escaped the great city fire).

The hotel’s illuminated swimming pool is located in the old warehouse and has a temperature of 15 degrees. Warmer temperatures than that would not be tolerated due to the fragile environment. On the other hand, cold pools are just right for the times, and that certainly applies to the name of the pool “Pond” seen as a nod to the Coolcation phenomenon. However, you don’t have to worry about it freezing too much: next to the pool there is a fresh and modern sauna ready to warm up chilled bodies.

Price: Access to the spa is included in the price of the hotel booking

#2. Grand Hôtel (Scandinavian spa and fitness)

The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is another five-star hotel in Stockholm that has a swimming pool, although a dip is far from free. The warm infinity pool is marketed as the “heart” of the hotel’s spa. I’ve been wanting to see this place for a long time and have booked myself a stay in a few weeks as a birthday present. I may ask you to come back with both photos and a review.

#3. Downtown Camper from Scandic (The Nest)

The outdoor pool on the ninth floor of Downtow’s Camper by Scandic is not large, but it offers both warmth and panoramic views over Stockholm!

Price: from SEK 445/person (age limit 16 years)

#4. Clarion Hotel Sign (fd Selma City Spa)

The rooftop pool of Clarion Hotel Sign is a very beautiful story, located on the eighth floor of Norra Bantorget in Stockholm. Because the hotel’s swimming pool is heated, it is open all year round – every season has its own charm.

Price: Price from SEK 395 for hotel guests, can also be booked as an external guest (age limit 16 years).

#5. Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel

This hotel swimming pool is a bean-shaped indoor variant that most resembles the variants on large cruise ships. Unlike the hotel pools mentioned above, the hotel seems to welcome both children and adults to the pool!

Please note that both the hotel’s wellness area and the swimming pool will be closed for renovations until mid-April 2026.

Bonus tips: Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport

Clarion Hotel Arlanda

I know very well that Clarion Hotel Arlanda is a bit out of Stockholm city, but I’ll throw this hotel in as a bonus tip! It is truly an experience to step into an illuminated outdoor swimming pool with a view of the flight tower.
