The NHL and NHLPA have reached an agreement about the status of the five players who are acquitted in the Hockey Canada Sexual Assault Trial, the NHLPA confirmed on Thursday. The players remain suspended until December 1, 2025, but can start signing contracts from 15 October.

The NHLPA statement says that the trade union regards the “matter concluded”, which Chris Johnston of TSN and The athletics indicates There will be no appeal to the decision of the NHL.
Michael McLeod, Carter Hart, Dillon Dube, Cal Foote and Alex Forenton, who was all charged with an incident in 2018 in London, Ont. Ont. Ont. Ont. Ont.
McLeod, Hart, Dube and Foote are now unlimited free agents and can negotiate with any NHL team. According to the agreement, their contracts can be registered from 15 October, they can start team conditioning and return to NHL matches on 1 December on 15 November.
Forenton recently signed with the Swiss team HC Ambrì-Piotta until December, and raises questions about whether he wants to go into the NHL again this season.
While the NHL acknowledged in July that the allegations were “disturbing”, regardless of the verdict, the resolution now offers a path for the return of the players. Hart, 26, had been the starting goalkeeper of the flyers, while McLeod, Dube and Foote active NHL -Stam guests were before their arrests at the beginning of 2024.
